i guess it depends how thoroughly you water it each time.

i water once every 2-3 days, but i water the entire pot so that water drains out through the bottom.
3 times a day is far too much.
once a day at most

i wouldnt even do once a day , u want to encourage the roots to look for water, plus the more you water the more the soil turns to sludge in my opinion"which can drown the plant"

A drip system waters a plant a few hundred times daily. Soil growing though your looking at about ever 3-7 days depending on variables like soil type, humidity, plant size, ect.

I have never watched this green guy your talking about but I dont usually go to you tube for growing advice.
If you ask me watering every three days sounds pretty normal. Watering every other day or sooner is ok under high heat and other specific conditions but several times a day is just rediculous.:leaf:

I believe I can clear things up. I've seen many of his vids and I'm pretty sure somewhere he describes his mix that he uses when he waters 3 times a day. That being said if your mix allows for a very high rate of drainage it may be necessary, although this would cause salt build up sooner and I personally believe it would be a waste of water/nutes.

As far as how well I like his videos.. Most of the info is pretty good but I don't agree with everything.

He's not growing in soil. That's the difference. His system is grown in hydrotron which dries out almost immediently after watering. so the roots are getting air. Where as growing in soil holds the moisture so it needs air sometimes by letting the soil dry out. His system requires that the roots get water periodically throughout the day. Soil doesn't require that you water it every day to keep the roots moist.
