How many Plants per sq. Ft.?

greenhouse will be 4 ft long, 4 ft wide, and 5 ft tall... that is 16 square ft. so how many plants should i be able to grow.. i will be using 3 gallon containers for each plant, hoping for a yied of 2.5oz or more from each plant. i really dont want any of the plants getting above 4 feet.. how many plants should i grow?

i would say no more than 4 plants but i bet your gonna have problems with the height. another thing, 3 gallons is way too small for a full growing season.

When I had a square foot garden, I would packed my plants really close together. In one square 12" square I'd put a Sativa, then next to I'd put a strawberry plant, then an Indica, then lettuce, then another indica. If you want three foot plants, you can fill up each square with a plant. If you want 5-6" plants then no more then four per 4x4 area. In the ground a cubic foot is roughly seven gallons. If your growing in pots, I'd try to aim for a 10 gallon fabric smart pot. Hope this helps. Best of luck man. - Vin

or at least use some nursery 5 gal pots, nurseries usually sell used ones for like 10 cents each. you would be able to fit 16 in there with those pots
