how many DWC 5 gallon buckets per 400 watt hps??

Lookin for different thoughts on my flower room. I'm running two 400 watt hps with parabolic hoods with a 6'×9' area For my DWC buckets. My hang up is deciding how many buckets to go with. I got a separate room for veg with twelve 4' T5. So with that said I'm trying to achieve a perpetual grow but get the most out of my two 400 watt lamps Jus not sure to go with just a few plants or maybe 4 buckets per light? I'm also going with TnT Kush for the first group. Any thoughts or ideAs would be greatly appreciated.

i'd say 3 per 400. a 400 is good for about a 3x3 space. 3 buckets in a triangle shape.

a scrog is really the best way to make use of a 400. it lacks the penetration of a 600 and especially a 1k.
or if want to get fancy, try stacking the 400's on top of each other bare bulb and grow vertically. place the buckets in a circle areound the lights, erect some type of netting/fence.

Ditto on the vert. Or I would say two buckets. A 400 doesn't throw off much light at all.

Yea i knew i was messin up when i ordered the 400 instead of the 600. Iv had 2 600 before an was satisfied with them, maybe I can put a 600 in between them. If there in a row I can go three lamps but I'm getting interested in vertical growing, ima check it out .. I appreciate the direction.

Let me say this.. vertical I the mother fucking bomb. It makes soooo much sense with cannabis (do to heights and growth rates) yet you don't see it much.

We have two 40k watt flower rooms, 40 plants each. We hit 2 lbs per light when there are no problems.

No fucking hoods, no fucking ducting, no fucking mess of shit. Bare vert bulbs, cages, and lots of AC (and co2).

Done and done. One bulb = 48 sq. Ft. Of canopy. And thats with the bulb 17" frok the plant... we arw talking 80k lux.

Try that with horizontal.
