How many CFL Lamps do i need?

In theory 3 to 4 per plant which means you'll be spening 200 plus on cfls, for that price i would just buy an hps. You may need to consider growing less cuz i think 10 plants is going to be overwhelming if its a first grow

I agree 10 plants it a shit ton for CFL growing, not saying you can't do it but you'd be better off with HPS. If you still want to go the CFL route you want about 100w per plant, but a more correct way of gauging how much light you need is the size of your grow space. You want about 2500 lumens per sqft for early veg, 5000 lumens per sqft for veg, and for flower (is still widely debated) you want 7000-10000 lumens per sqft. You still need to be aware of heat though. Good luck and toke on dude.

hps for sure for that amount of plant as said before. even if you decide not to do as many there are 150 watt systems for under $100 and combined with a few cfl's you can still do a few plants with great success and wont have to mess around with all cfl's.

i would do both,cfl for side lighting and hps for tops,yea 10 plants with clfs thats a hell of a lot of work.right now im useing 532 real watts of clf on one plant i still need more light ,but my plant is a biggen
