How many amps will this ballast pull?

So here's a picture of the label on my ballast. I'm confused because it lists two different amperages, and two different voltages. I'm assuming with voltages it just means it can work with either voltage circuit, but as far as amperage? Is is saying how many amps respective to different voltages, or relative to whether its in HPS or MH mode?

Double the voltage = half the amperage.

Example:

1,000 watt light

On 120v, the light/ballast will draw 10 amps
On 240v, the light/ballast will draw 5 amps.

Has absolutely nothing to do with MH/HPS

Amps = Watts/110. That'll give you the basic power draw.

Simple equation. Watts/volts=amps.

Look up Ohm's Law, the chart will give all applicable equations.

Amps = Watts/Volts
Watts = AmpsxVolts

IF your circuit is 110 volts, then amps = watts/110 is accurate

A 1000 watt light draws about 9.2 amps at 120 volts (1100 watts / 120 volts = 9.17 amps). See this page for other ballast wattages. On a 240 volt circuit the amperage is 4.6 amps (1100 watts / 240 volts = 4.58 amps), so when running multiple light systems, it's easier to wire them for 240 because you can use smaller wire.
