How long in the veg room until I should start a clone

I guess you mean how large should a plant be before taking a cutting/clone.
If thats the case then you can take a cutting at anytime but the plant should be large enough to live without it. Like have more grow tips.

I will usually wait until I have three sets of shoots, then take the bottom two.

i read from a grow book the the branch u wanna clone should be at least around the 10-15 cm mark

I would wanna wait to see if its a female just to be safe and not waist you money!

Let me add to that...

I will take the small clones and start them under 12/12
In about three weeks i will know what I have.
That way you could veg to the size you want without males.
