how long can I keep a seedling in a 1.5 inch rockwool starter cube

This kind of starter cube

So I want to keep my seedling in the rockwool until it has a couple of sets of leaves, how long can I usually keep it in the starter plug? I wouldn't want to have the plants become rootbound

Should I transplant them into a 3 or 4 inch bigger rockwool cube before transferring them to the net pot?

it's going into a 6 inch net pot for DWC

i just started a dwc the same way too... the tap root came out about 3 mm and one of them i noticed started to dry so i immediately put it in the net pot... and its thriving now...

why do you want to keep them just in the RW that long? you could put it in the bucket as soon as the tap root breaks through...

I've been doing that and the plants have not been performing well, It's hard to get the humidity up in my tent, plus 250w MH is a lot for 4 day old seedlings.

I was advised to keep my seedlings out of the tent until they have at least 2-3 nodes on them (under CFL)

The plants that really grew for me had amazing root structure outside of the rockwool prior to planting, whereas the ones that the roots were'nt twice as long as the rock wool, just died.

I think I'm going to buy a 3 inch grow cube with a hole in the top,

when the taproot sticks out the bottom I'm going to put it in the 3 inch cube, until I get 2-3 nodes

then I'll transplant into my grow tent with DWC. So far this is my plan. Please correct me if you have experience starting seeds!
