How hot does it get in your tent? Today It was at 90 degrees in there!!

I've got a 3x3 Secret Jardin with a 400 watt air cooled hood with a 6 inch booster fan pulling the hot air out of the light. There's a 4 inch booster fan for intake and a cheap little fan hanging in the tent moving air around. Today it was warm out and I saw the hottest temps I've seen in my tent so far, almost 90 degrees. Generally It runs in the low 80's. Bascially I think I've done everything I can to keep it cool in there. I have the vents open a little and the socks too but not too much because I want it relatively light tight when the lights go out. I have a fan blowing air out of the room but since the ambient temp in the room is still 86 degrees I would say that even thought it's almost 90 degrees in my tent I've done everything I can do aside from lowering the room temp with a/c.
Ok so here's the deal, a/c is out of the question at this time, maybe later but not now. So I guess I will have to live with a hot tent. BTW I'm taking the temp about a foot from the tent ceiling.
Anyone else have a tent that runs at around 90 degrees on hot days?

So basically you're asking how to cool the tent without cooling the air? Lol...don't mean to be a smart ass (well, only a little), but without using an AC, your options are limited.

There's something called a 'swamp cooler' which basically cools the air by increasing the humidity with cool water vapor, but that'd be a disaster during flower and more or less inviting mold and/or mildew infestation.

I just re-read your post again, and it's not clear to me if you're pumping the light exhaust straight outside, or just outside the tent. Can you elaborate on the exhaust setup? I was having some awful problems with heat with 2x 600 watters in my DR150 until I built a window box to pipe the light exhaust straight outside where it can't touch my little misses ;)

whats your fan rated for?

if a 434 cfm fan can cool my 1k....im sure it can do your 400.

also, do you vent your hot air to another room?

I guess it's hard to see the forest through the trees. Seems pretty obvious now. My exhaust goes outside the tent but into the small room making it too hot the the room itself. I guess I can't ask the tent to do miracles with the temps. I need to get the exhaust outdoors on hot days. That should solve the prob. Thanks.

Someone changed my whole approach to my tent problem today. In conclusion, I will run my light at night. It's almost always cooler at night. This will eliminate the problem probably 90% of the time in the summer. There will still be some hot nights but I really want to avoid venting my exhaust outside. I like this night time running idea in the winter too. Things will be toasty during the cold nights.
