ever heard of the hand test?

its a little hard to explain so bear with me. put your hand under the light and move your hand away untill you can just barely feel the warmth. thats how far you should put the light

Approx How much inches away from the White widow ?

5 ? 10 ? 15 ? 20 ?

Depends how many plants you have and how tall they are. Also if your light has a cool tube. Without, I would try to keep it about 10 inches away. At 10" you are getting about 42,000 lumens right under the light. 9" is about 52,000 lumens and 11" is about 35,000 lumens. At those distances without a cooltube, it shouldn't burn your buds. I would go closer if you have a cooltube as long as it give it enough of a canopy to cover all your plants also. So i would try to aim around those areas depending how many plants you have.

The color of my HPS 600 watt changed from White to red to yellow .. when i turned it on ... is that normal ? :o
