How do the cops catch you growing?

is it possible to get caught with CFL's? i always thought they could detect heat from the HPS lighting with choppers thats how people got caught and your hydro readings. i just moved in to my first house. ive had 2 hyrdro bills. so it would be tough for them to detect a pattern on me thus far. not 1 person will know im growing soo. u think im safe to grow 6 plants running prolly 12 CFL's @ 26 watts in the same closet (big closet)? or should i grow 3 upstairs in a closet and 3 downstairs in a closet? would it matter? im from canada if that makes any difference? lol

nah man dont worry. Unless you plan on having bags and scales around your place you shouldn't have anything to worry about.
Im running 10 23w cfls 3 45w cfls 18/6 it brought my bill up a bit. but nothing that would create a flag
Im also from canada, theres a slap on the wrist for anything under 5 plants.
Its also winter, so having a boiler/furnace running with rads in your house would look like grow rooms.

My guess is that the majority of people caught are turned in because they trusted a friend about their grow. Not that the friend turned them in, but the friend told his or her spouse, who in turn told a friend and so on. Someone in the chain will eventually phone the cops.

The key is following politics lol, stupid as government in canada always fucking with the weed laws.
Just keep updated, I heard it might be changing. They might lower the amount...

Electricy bill...Nossy neighbors watching who goes in and out of ur house, calling in unusual activity...If u have a feeling someone is watching u, its probably true....smell...too much electricity will put up a flag and usually theyll send a hellicopter over ur house to detect its heat levels....but from cfl the only way to get caught is telling people, nossy neighbors, or using around 200-300 $ more on electricity then everyone in ur neighborhood

the hydro companies in canada will not turn you over to the cops as long as you are buying your power from them. they are no dummies, and likely have an idea of which houses have abnormal consumption......but they are happy to collect your money every month.... i know a lot of people with illegal ops, with thousdands in montly electricty, hydro company only dimes you out if your STEALING the power, not if your buying it.....ive been told by cops, in ontario, even if they sus[pect grow ops, they dont ever kick in the door unless its been complained about specifically. and yes, up to five plants is a slap on the wrist......its a fine, if you even get convicted......however, it will adversely affect your chance at ever growing legally.....
