How do I use ph Adjusters?

My plants were starting to show signs of deficiencies so I ordered a soil pH meter and found the soil in my plants to range from 6.0 to 7.8. So I ordered some earth juice pH up and pH down which will be here on Friday, but I'm not quite sure how to use it.

Do you put it in water and then water the plants, or do you sprinkle it on the soil? How much do I need to use to raise the pH by 1 point?

I'm using fox farm ocean forest mixed with sunshine mix #1 in 3 gallon pots. Theyre 6 weeks into veg and I've been feeding them Dyna-Gro and B-52. I want to correct this pH problem before I change the photo period.

I don't trust soil meters. 6 - 7.8 is a huge differance. To answer your question about how to use ph adjusters is as follows. Make up a batch of water and ferts. Test PH. Adjust to desired level. Use to water/feed. Your soil has some buffering ability already so it should be fine. If you realy want to change the soils pH level then use only pH adjusted water and flush well. Then start the feed program again making sure the solution is at the pH you want each time. Hope this helps a bit.

If you want to rely on your soil Ph meter then make sure you know how to use it properly.
