so i ordered a bottle of big bloom fox farm and was wondering how i use it. the bottle says to use 4 tablespoons per gallon, so should i dump the whole gallon on my plant? and because its completely organic would it be a bad idea to use 6 tablespoons per gallon? also i read that most big bloom ferts create more plant matter then it does increase in potency. all help is greatly appreciated this is the first time ive ever used liquid ferts.

I would start off with 2 tsp per gallon during the seedling stage to see how they react to the nutes, if they like it then raise it to 4 tsp per gallon. I have used fox farm liquid ferts for a while now and love it, but if you use to much of it, it can seriously burn your plants. Less is always better. Its always easier to fix a nute defenciency than nute burn. Trust me.

Always start slow, use the recommended amount and work your way up as needed. And yes, FF can easily burn your plant. Just mix around 3-4 tablespoons in a gallon and water your plant with it. I use my nutrients every other watering.

You can dump the whole gallon on one plant, when I feed I first get the soil wet with a gallon of ph'd water and then feed them the gallon of plant food. I basically feed them 2 gallons of water every feeding.

I guess it depends on the size of the pot. I water my 5 gallon pot with 1 gallon of water each time, and my 3 gallons with about a half gallon.

Do you have a PH meter? Very important when using nutrients.

First off fox farm is not organic. It had edta, heavy metals and chemical preservatives and salts.

Step 1 pick up bottle
Step 2 walk to trash can
Step 3 throw bottle in the trash
Step 4 build your own soil mix.
haha i wish i had known it wasn't organic... though how do you know? and i just spent like 30 bucks with shipping and handling cant afford to throw it out though i will keep this in mind for my next grow

Edta is an acetate that is chelating agent that's on the label. Nutrient companies don't list everything on tye label. They're not required to. But they are required to disclose everything to each state dept of agriculture to be able to register their product. They have to meet certain requirements to be able to register. If they can't register their products they can't legally sell them. So check with dept of agriculture. Some list them publically online.

PH is very important...you can pick up a cheapie PH kit at your local home depot or whatever, one that looks like this:

also, if you cant tell how big your pot is just keep watering until you see water start to runoff. You could probably get away with a half gallon.

so will the ph kit only tell me what the ph is or will it also help me balance things out.... also what happens if the ph is to high or to low for to long?
