How do i get this fan to work??

I pulled this fan (with plug to fan and power wire) from a WORKING full-sized refrigerator.
I plug the 3-pin thing into the back of the fan, plug the 3-prong power wire in to the wall annd..... NOTHING.
does it need something else? by the weight of the fan itself, i am ASSUMING the motor is inside the fan. very good chance, that i am very wrong.
Any wiring/fan/electrical savvy peeps out there know what i need to do to get this baby to start spinning??

I wish you could put the wiring back in so you could take a volt meter and test it. Do you still have the fridge? Try and search out the model fridge you have and look at the wiring diagram. It will tell you all the good info you need. I hope this helps.

I assume you live in USB or Canada- wiring is different in europe
take the power cord and cut it before the harness, hopefully the 3 wires inside the jacket are color coded.attach the green wire to the fans case. the fan will have 2 wires coming off the motor, attach white to white and black to black.
if anything isnt color coded, you need to find the ground(green) from the plug,it will be the wire attached to the round prong on the plug.this wire should be attached to the fan case for safty but isn't really needed.the other 2 wires can be attached to the 2 wires on the fan.
most AC motors wont care which leg is hot(black) or neutral(white) but if it doesn't work, try switching wires.
be careful! make sure you unplug the cord b4 touching wires. I cant tell you how many times I have forgot to unplug a cord and grabbed a wire that was hot! it is not likely to kill you but it bites but good.
tape up any connections or better yet use wire nuts.

Dont bother with it, it could become a shock or fire hazard. That fan wont work that well anyway.
