Hey guys look this grow i am gonna mix earthworm castings with my coco/perlite mix at a 4/1 ratio & i am having trouble working out the ratio.

i cant find ewc anywhere nearby that sells it in litres, only by weight & im not sure if im making things more difficult than they need to be.

i have 50 litres of coco/perlite mix which weighs almost exactly 10kg + 2.5kg of ewc & to ME mixing those 2 together is a 4/1 ratio, by weight.

Coz a cup of coco is a LOT less than a cup of ewc because of how dense it is, so mixing it by parts, 4 parts/cups coco to 1 part ewc doesn’t seem right to me.

I can’t find a converter ANYWHERE to help me so what do you guys do?

i know that mixing a little too much won’t burn my plants but im seriously concerned about the water retention that ewc has.

Any help would be great please ‍♂

The easiest ratio is 1:0 meaning skip the earthworm castings, they have little, if any, benefit if growing hydro.
If you really want to add earthworm castings to coco coir, it is indeed done by volume.
e.g. 12.5l castings to 50l media will give you a 1:4 ratio.
