Hey guys,

First time grower here using RDWC. Since this is my first grow ever I have a lot of questions so bare with me everyone lol. Also, not sure if it makes a difference but my system consists of 6 5-gallon home depot buckets connected to a 12.5 rez. I appreciate any help/advice you can give. bongsmilie :weed: :-D

1. Do I only feed once per week during water changes?

2. Do I mix the nutes together like a cocktail and pour it in the reservoir?

3. What should my EC/PPM/PH look like throughout the grow? I have an R.O. Machine (HydroLogic 150)

4. How often should I check EC/PPM/PH?

5. Ive heard too many nutes for young clones can burn them, so whats the right amount for them?

6. What nutrients would you recommend for RDWC?

damn right...too many questions.....that can be answered by diligent research before you jumped in hydro. Have you grown before?

I can understand if you're growing in soil and your first time. A lot of people think that growing cannabis is just like any plant in your garden. But in your case...you probably bought a ready system and think people here would just walk you through every baby step in RDWC. Read up dude...google is your friend...then if there's something that is not clear to you then that's the time you ask questions.

Before I started growing, I took my time to research about the plant, about the medium I'm growing in. Did that make me an expert? Hell no, I still have questions but I make sure I research the answer first and if there's anything that is not clear to me or contradictory answers that's when forum becomes helpful to see where people stands in the subject and make my informed decision based on the information I received.

On your case...its really clear that you want to be spoon feed.

Don't take this in an offensive way. Trust me, in the long run, you better off with your grow if you do the hardwork in your head first.

You're a funny dude. Your questions can be easily answered if you have done your research before you commit yourself to hydro. Meaning they are all basic questions. Do you jump in the ocean and ask how to swim? Ever wonder why nobody answered your questions?
I agree! Granted, it can be a little daunting and overwhelming when first growing, especially if starting with hydro. But you have to do some work and research. You have to be able to find resources for info, and be able to problem solve, to some extent.

I've stated this quite often around here, but growing weed is not all that easy, especially when you're trying to recreate nature indoors. Be prepared to do a lot more reading, as problems and questions are neverending when growing weed.

This is the go to guide for so many things having to do with growing! It is basically a free book on everything from the very basic, to advanced techniques, of growing.

GrowWeedEasy

You can also read through my RDWC Grow thread, which walks through how I built mine from scratch. There are a lot of comments from seasoned growers here on RIU, and might answer a lot of questions you have. Lots of pics :)

Not to mention that all of us here went through the work of reading and research, and we expect you to do the same. Besides, the more research you do, the more understanding you'll have of why plants need nutrients, and why plants don't "feed" of off them. Plants feed off of light and convert it into food via "photosynthesis". That's a basic thing about all plants, but now that you're starting to grow a fairly complex plant, you will have much more success knowing the science of how and why a plant grows.

BTW, a lot off people refer to giving nutrients as "feeding", so I wasn't trying to give yo you a hard time. I just used it as a basic example.

And finally, this should all be fun and challenging. This is a "project" that's going to require work and learning, but the end results are so gratifying!

It was meant to spark his intrest to research

I mean nowadays everything is out there

When i started i had to get a printed out copy of a quick how to grow book bcause since it was illegal then you wouldnt dare want to look at that shit at the grow area (what i thought at the time) plus years worth of high times and you can grow too lol

Today there isnt almost any excuse for not finding info .

How often do you see me asking questions lol
And i still have them occasionally;)

There's no doubt that the internet and the endless amount of information, helped fuel the grow-op revolution :)

Every one of his questions would have been answered more quickly if he had just googled them LOL!

I start off with judt a splash of this and that in my mixing barrel. Granted im using about 50 gallons of water but i use tap water so there is some minerals in my water already so they dont need much when i firdt transplant them. The first two weeks i do not change my water i let the roots get set during that time. Then i give a little boost on nutes and slowly add more when i change the system out about once a week. Mix barrel eith water, nutes ,ph it and dumpr in! Check on them once or twice a day hydro is very unforgivung compaired to soil you have to be on shit! Ph can go sporadic and you habe to figure our why and fine tune it. Expect to lose plants because at some point you probably will! Things can judt change. My bedt advice is be clean in your room and make sure you clean your system well after each run! Water temp you need to watch to i had to get water chillers but my grow is on the second floor so it hotter especially in summertime. Pretty much write down what you do in your grows and what happens and judt do it. Keep your ph good and dont over nute your plsnts snd if you have the ambition to do hydro you will get it down and come out on top!
