How comfortable are U ?

This is a question mainly for those growing in a non cannabis friendly state or those who maybe growing over thier limits or just for plain old piece of mind & secrecy.....

How cofortable are u going to your local hydro shop in town if u have 1 ?

I usually order online but had been looking for a shop close & found 1 about 40 minutes away that I visited once about six months ago. NOW, about 2 weeks ago I was searching around for superthrive. For as cheap as it is I didn't want to pay for shipping so was searching again for hydro shops close & found that there is 1 in town, in walking distance !

I went that evening & it was closed, it was Friday & close to closing time so I said fine, Saturday they open @ 10.....got there @ 11 h still closed. I storm off, go back home, pack up the kids & ole lady & take the trip to the boonies to the other hydro store I found 6 months ago. On the way there I began to think about......

How uncomfortable, now that I took time to think, that I was about buying rite there in town for many reasons, LEGIT or NOT ! Cops & robbers alike would & could be watchin to see who comes out of there with some bud candy & bloom boosters....filters, fans & hoods, follow u home or just take liscense plate #.

I think I will stick to the long ride. Hell, the ole lady gets the time she bitches about, kids get to see the animals as we ride thru the farming areas & I get to run around like a kid in a candy store & not feel nervous. I know the same could happen anywhere, but I feel safer out of town.......THOUGHTS ?????

you show common sense thats all , do what you think you need to do , ordering stuff online is as risky or safe as you perceive it to be , cops can watch shops and would have a valid reason to stop and ask then ruin your life but then they dont have manpower or simply resources to do this so your fairly ok , rippers are another thing and common sense says do what you need to do to avoid this , myself i park away and carry the stuff to the car not try to park in an isle , i also stop for no reason on the road just to see if being followed , i always go different ways home and always make sure i fuck about stopping for food or food shopping or clothe shopping , anything to piss a few hrs away so if i were to be followed they had better be patient

online well if a shop were to be raided then there would be a lot of people to chase up with no real evidence of anything except to say you made a purchase , this wouldnt bother me in the slightest although you may want to get items delivered to a different address just in case the posties a ripper !!! the postie a ripper shows a rather large amount of paranois IMO

Before my state became legal I went to the grow shops. There is nothing illegal about grow equipment, I never worried then and i'm not worried now. Also ordered seeds online before my state became legal fuck the narrow minded ASSHOLES.

Hydro stores sell all legal stuff. Just like you can buy a pipe and not have your house searched, they can't get a warrant just because you shopped at a hydro store. I see old ass ladies in mine all the time. Just pay in cash and and always say "tomatoes" when talking to your hydro employees.

Not a question of whether or not the equipment is leagal to sell, its a question of how comfortable u are buying this equiptment from a hydro store in your town or city if u have one, or any closest to u....hell I don't like being asked to leave an address or phone # when I checkout when shopping @ lowe's or home depot after buying building supplies for my grow....just not comfortable with it at all....lol

I always keep and small indoor set up going in the basement with peppers or tomatoes in it, just in case anyone ever wondered what i was doing with all the grow related items i buy.

I'm pretty comfortable with my hydro stores. The car I take is not registered to the address of the grow so they'll never find the location just by taking down my license plate. They would have to follow me in order to obtain that info. I live in a big city so I can take plenty of turns and go in circles without really going out of my way so it's pretty easy to pick up on tails. The parking is perfect for the two locations that I visit. They have parking on the street, which I never use, and they also have a small lot around back. The size and shape of the lot, the surrounding buildings, and the layout of the road to access the lot make it impossible for anyone to just sit and watch cars that come and go. It's not possible for LEO or rippers to stake out the lots without completely exposing themselves.

With all of that said, both of the stores are about a twenty minute drive, and I don't think I would ever consider shopping at any hydro store within walking distance regardless of where I live.

BTW, you shouldn't have to go to a hydro store for superthrive, I've seen it at home depot and even walmart.

How bizarre, when I looked up a Hydro store in Cape Town (not many stores like this anyhow around here) I was in deep talk with the sales lady and "tomatoes" where the only plant we talked about in "reference" to weed.

Everything stocked in the shop was Hydro related + the usual gimmicks for odor control etc, other than that its just a hydro store. You gotta have stick up your ass to wanna go through all the trouble to bust a grower.

I'm comfortable at my store. Hydro can grow some great vegetables, what's to worry about? When in doubt, pay with cash. Don't make trails if you don't want trails.

I'm in one of the most legal places in the world as long as you comply. I visit one hydro store (hey J and K) and there's been many times state troopers or city pigs sitting across the street in a parking lot. I really have no idea what they're doing over there but I usually wave and say something like "hey you fucking pig" , of course not loud enough for them to hear.

Great replies guys, thanx...I also like the one about the car not being registered to where u live or where the grow site is. Maybe borrow my ole lady's mom car....lol

the guys at my store are chill as fuck. THey wouldnt let cops sit nearby if they knew. Businesses have the right to ask police to leave their lot.
but im not worried about the store. More worried about my location in the ghetto, but really thats where I fit in anyways... im white trash

The guys in my local hydro store know some of the cops on the beat in the area by name. Weed is 100% Illegal where I live.

I'm cautious on my way in and out of the grow shop, but that's more because I don't want to be seen by anyone I know. After people who I know would be disapproving and might ship me to authorities, the people I'm most worried about bumping into are actually my friends who smoke weed - if they find out I'm growing I'll be getting plenty of requests to give/sell them some, and that can quickly spiral. That's (mostly) good if you grow weed to make some money, but for me it would be more trouble than it's worth.

If I met someone I know IN the grow shop, that would be a nice surprise, because likely they're also a grower!

A think a healthy dose of paranoia is actually a good thing if you're growing in a state where your activities are illegal. A little paranoia will mean you're over-cautious, and that's the key to keeping things stealthy.

As for how comfortable I feel being an illegal grower:
I consider that I may one day be caught, and I'm prepared to accept the consequences. If you're not, I don't think you should be growing. I disagree entirely with the law, and growing is a form of protest against it. In a way it's easy for me to say this because I'm unlikely to be given anything more than a short suspended sentence if I ever do get caught - with no priors and a very small, personal grow. If the laws here were more stringent, and the punishment was likely to involve prison time, I don't think I'd risk it.

I feel at my most comfortable when I'm enjoying the fruits of my labour.

With the Supreme Court ruling that police can't take a canine around your home to check for a smell just makes me more comfortable about buying anything. And ill put it on my card, drive my car registered at grow addy and do it all in a non legal state. Good luck in court explaining that your reasoning for investigating me was because of where I shop. You people are a little senile on your shit. I've grown on a military installation and had the beans and equipment mailed to the same addy that the grow was. Don't advertise to your "friends" and you're golden.

My hydro store is great. First name basis. They call me when they have sales. I share some buds with them once in awhile.. If I were doing something large scale things would be much different. But as long as I stay under what the state says I can grow I feel ok.. Guess that's one good thing about being in So Cal..
