how close

does anyone know how close you can put a 600 watt air cooled hps light to my plants i know that if its not air cooled its 18 to 20 inch`s away but never used a air cooled.

I would say your looking at about 16 inches, no closer then 12 for sure.

No problem, don't be offended if someone asks a question in response to something you post. You would be suprised about how many times a small detail can make a huge difference.

rule of thumb says if the back of your hand is comfortable after a minute,the plants will be to. see how close you can hold your hand to the light for a minute w/out getting uncomfortable. that will be as close as the plants should get and remember they grow like weeds so give them a few extra inches so you dont have to move the light every day
