How big should I go?

I am going to be starting an indoor grow room soon, using ocean forest fox farm soil. My plan is to get a large grow tent and 1000 watt light. I want to get atleast one pound per harvest. So how much space do I need roughly and how many plants, veg time, and size of pots?

With a 1000w you can cover a good 4x4 footprint.

You'll probably want to use 5 gallon pots.

6 weeks veg

6 decent sized plants.

For a 1000 watt I do four 7 gallon pots. A 4x4 or 5x5 tent would be good. If youre using a 1000 watt in a tent be prepared to do some topping on the plants and possibly some tying down of the branches, especially if its a stretchy strain. Tents are like 6.5 - 7 ft tall and it's easy to use up that height quickly ( 12" for the pot,12" for the hood, 16" clearance above the plants so they dont burn/bleach). Veg time is strain dependent, I usually flip to 12/12 with a topped bushy plant thats about 12 - 16 inches tall.

I have done from 1 - 50 plants under 1kW. More veg time = less plants. With about six weeks veg four plants should be just right. If stretchy strain use a trellis and train.
