How are trichomes cloudy but still have tons of white hairs?

How are my buds trichomes mostly all cloudy but still have tons of white hairs?

They aren't cloudy. View them from the side. When you view them head on they can appear cloudy from light refraction, while they are not.

Your plants are 6+ weeks from ready so I have no idea why you'd even be trying to check the trichomes.

I know right. Ppl get hung up trichomes without realising they are in a state of continual flux.

If you look hard enough at trichomes you will always find a reason to harvest, as there will always be somewhere on the plant that has clear and cloudy.

Wait for the plant to actually look ripe - receded pistils (95% all over), swollen calyx (crowning), the buds take on a darker looking appearance from an under ripe plant.

then when all these precursors have been achieved then look to trichomes if you want to.

those of us who have been doing this a while don’t even check trichomes anymore.

Reflected light. Check the trics on the calyx, far better determine. Also, still kind of have that "shiny' glassy look, your looking for a fuzzier more matte.
Imho.

Because trichomes are not as reliable as people think they are. Some of us don't even look at them.
