How are things looking?

This is feminized AK47 X Lowryder2, almost 4 weeks in. I had run into a ph problem a little while ago that has since then recovered from. I'm using a pretty simple set up, honestly just trying to get my first successful grow under my belt. 1 45W 6700k, 1 26W 6500k, 1 40W 2700k, and 1 40W 3000k are the lights I'm using and I've run the lights 24/0 the whole time. More lights? Different schedule? I fed it for the first time last Wednesday, just some 10-30-10 plant food bought here locally. Looking for any advice/comments.

I'm not a soil grower but I can say your lights are a lot better than what a lot of people fool around with. Keep them close to the foliage, 2-3 inches.

I'll definately stay on top of the distance of the lights. Northwoodsmoker I am in flowering right now. With that being said, what would some opinions be on feeding some 10-50-10?

Ok, here I am 2 weeks later, about 5 1/2 weeks in total. I was using some 10-30-10 plant food that didn't even have directions, it was the pellet type, and I got a nute burn issue. I took the food that was still on top off and flushed it and she has since then recovered. This was actually not too long after I posted here that this happened, so basically the last 2 weeks I've kept an eye on the issue. I flushed about 10 days ago and within 5 days I noticed the burn was not spreading and that she would be ok. New growth has stopped being affected by the burn. This is kind of fun, I've had to save her twice, once with a ph issue and then the nute burn. I'm fighting for her! This would be my first successful grow, so I'm looking to all of you to help me get to the finish line.

Anyway, I have also since then replaced one of my 26 watt lights with a 45 watt one. So I'm sitting at 2 45 watt 6700k and 2 40 watt 2700k, still on 24/0. Should I stay 24/0 or go to 18/6? I have since then bought some 10-50-10 that is mixed in water and today I fed her with this for the second time. The first time I fed her with this was the 28th and she did not respond negatively to it. I have left the leaves alone that were affected by the burn, should I leave them or cut them? My main issue right now is my pot. I transplanted from a smaller pot to this one. In one of the pictures as you will see the roots are coming out of the drain holes on the bottom of the pot. Does this mean I should transplant again into a bigger pot? One of the pictures I have a standard beer can next to it for comparison, or is the fact that the roots are at the drain holes reason enough to change pots? I figure I have at least another 4 weeks to go, all in all how do you think things are going? All help, responses, and comments are greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Ok, here I am after about 7 weeks of total time for my plant. Since my last post she has been transplanted, fed a couple of times, and I found some mylar and placed this in the grow area as opposed to regular white paper. The light situation is 1 45 watt 6700k, 1 40 watt 3000k, 1 40 watt 2700k, and 1 36 watt 2700k. I am pretty excited with how things are going as this will mark my first successful grow. Only thing that seems weird is that the cola seems to be really bushy/leafy, as is the whole plant. I'm thinking I still have a few more weeks which leads me to believe that the cola may just be in a filling out process, kind of like the whole plant has been doing as of late. The leaves are a little crispy and sort of lime greenish/slightly yellowish (the cola ones and not the ones that are obviously dead, this was a nute burn from before). So does it seem like there is a problem with the cola, or is it just taking it's course and filling out since it's the biggest of buds? Anyway, just looking for some feedback from all of the experts as to how progress has been and how things are looking.

Thanks, that's good to hear. The more time that goes on the more exciting this is getting, I can see already I am going to want to keep growing and growing.

I don't have an elaborate setup, I kept everything simple since this is my first grow, but I decided to post pictures anyway. This is my cardboard box set up. Hole on the bottom for air intake with mesh material covering it to catch dust. On top is a computer fan for exhaust and I have a outlet strip on top holding my lights.

The tinfoil will create hot spots which im sure you've heard..... i would replace the tinfoil with another material like mylar . That doesnt seem like much light either , but must be enough for that little area cause that plant doesn't look like its stretching at all..nodes are tight together and again i saw looking good other than the tinfoil and nute burn.:leaf:

More light definately wouldn't hurt, I may add more. The reflective material isn't tinfoil, it's the reverse side of some gift wrap. I think it may be mylar, it has the same feel and consistency as mylar. I am just not 100% sure if it's mylar or not. Are there any issues with using this as my reflective material?

I decided to add two more 36 watt 2700k bulbs. I'm looking forward to the coming weeks and how the extra light will help bud growth.

Hey, I visited your thread, good grow. My lights have been on 24/0 the entire time. I understand that this is ok with autoflowering dwarfs. I have been considering a change to 18/6 but I'm not sure if it would make that much of a difference at this point.

I'm 8 weeks in, overall pretty happy. It looks as if there is definately a problem, all new leaf growth on the cola has been yellow and stayed that way. It kind of sucks because this is supposed to be the biggest bud and something is wrong. It's not to say that there isn't bud underneath the mess of leaves, but just didn't reach full potential for sure.

On a more positive note, the side buds are coming along nicely. I'm happy with the smell and stickyness. There are many bud spots and aside from the cola problem, I'm happy with the progress. I think the addition of the 2 extra 36 watt lights have helped. They did cause me a problem though, I got greedy and tried getting them as close to the buds as possible and burned my share of leaves. I rigged it up so they act as bottom/side lighting, and without realizing burned some leaves. I'm not too concerned about it though.

All in all, very excited. I'm more excited about the learning experience and trying to improve my next grow, to eventually be self-sufficient, and be able to provide quality bud on my own, than I am to actually smoke this upcoming harvest.
