House flies + gnats in tent?

So i opened one of my flower tents today and was surprised to see 5 or 6 house flies buzzing around in there. I know i have fungus gnats but these were definitely bigger normal flies. Can they present any issues?

Also im late in flower and i cant get these gnats under control. They actually seem to like the diatomaceous earth i put in my soil and im hesitant to apply any solutions, im 100% organic and dont have much longer to go, will i be okay to just ignore them for another week or so and harvest? They only like soil/roots, correct?

For the gnats I have always done this:

Take a small mason jar (like a jelly jar), poke small holes in the lid, fill it up a third or halfway with apple cider vinegar and add a drop of dish soap. (close the lid). Put one outside the tent and inside.

I have not done this with marijuana plants in the room, it has just been a remedy I have used multiple times before.

I use the hotshot hangy thing for like a day and they all drop dead. I might too after smoking the flower, guess well find out.

thanks for the reply. If you had a week or 2 before harvest, how much work/money would you put into eradicating the gnats? My plan is to chop soon and get the pots of dirt completely out of my house.

With a week or 2 left, I would say your best choices would be to get some washed pool sand, and put a 1.5-2 inch layer of sand on top of your medium... dries quickly so roots and gnats can’t survive in it, doesn’t use pesticides (especially being near the end of bloom) and is fairly cheap and effective.

Other than that, you can likely just ignore them as your simply too close to harvest.

I grow in coco in a south eastern state and basically deal with fungus gnats 6-7 months out of each year and personally, I’ve found the combination of a solid layer of large particle pool sand(must be large particle or else the sand stays damp and your roots will grow up into it and fungus gnats can survive in it) and an occasional use of the product below at 2 drops per gallon, and I am able to control the issue fairly easily.

thanks, i truly appreciate the reply. This run has been a learning experience, ive never had any pest issues before, i fucking hate these things lol. I was going to buy some nematodes but since im chopping soon they probably would arrive as the plants are finished so ill just make sure things dont get much worse. Ive already spaced out my watering schedule a bit to keep soil dry but its not the most effective thing.
