Horizontal Grow?

Anyone ever tried something like this? If so how was the outcome yield? Would you do again? I was inspired by this grow from @paretogrow, and decided to give it a go. Used a 40 gallon grow bag and vegged for about 10 weeks. I suspect theirs was quite a bit longer. Just flipped the lights two days ago, shes been responding well. 20230203_172818.jpg20230201_182559.jpgScreenshot_20230203_174440_Gallery.jpg

Apart from being a novel way of showing something different there's not really any point.

In your case your using twice the floor space to grow a plant.
In the case of paretogrow the same thing can be achieved by just growing it normally and scrogging it, which would mean it was also balanced better.

Nothing wrong with doing it, just don't see any benefit

I normally grow in a basement about 6.5 feet high. Just an experiment, but trying to achieve maximum yield with height restrictions from a single plant. Grow it 5 feet high lay it on its side and flower and I think you can achieve more yield, thats all

Well, post some pics when it's flowering.

Wondering if you can bend half those branches back on themselves so you've got canopy above the pot area too.

I've done that several times but a slightly different method. I start when the plant is only about a foot tall and not lolipopped. Bend her over and continue training the main stem to stay horizontal and spread the branches out perpendicular to the main stalk until a week before flip, when I let the tips start to grow upwards. I also prune away the branches that stick straight up/down and only keep the ones that stick out left or right and clean up the secondary branches closest to the main stem. That allows proper spacing and air flow for the many colas that will form. I like this method better than manifold because it requires less time in veg and achieves a similar result. Lots of training and pruning but well worth it imo.
