Ok i bought a Homebox S yesterday... pretty stoked on it, last time it ried to grow in a closet and got a male.... gave up after that.

I have a question.. on lighting.. i want to go CFL... How many lights should be over 3 plants during VEG will 4 42watt CFL lights do the trick until flower? Or do I need more?

also can someone be kind and link me to the RIGHT CFL lights becuase i dont know if any CFL work or really.. and i wana be sure.. can you link me to somewhere with the RIGHT bulb for growing conditions... that is CFL

or try some HO T'5 for veg.. i do and it works absolutley great.. i got mine for 100 usd and it kicks out 45m lumens and my veg grows magnificantly.. however i use the big boy 1000 hps for bloom... but the H0 T5'S ARE AWESOME AND NOOOOOOOO HEAT....... you can put em smack down on top of the plant practically... i strongly urge u to check into the and remeber HO t5's (not just t5's.... you will be very glad u did i promise... they have nice hangers that come with them... easy as ever to install and i couldnt be happier.. also huge savings on electric bill... the halide definately works but the t5's are the way to go for VEGITATION.. (not bloom)

I have had pretty good results with fluorescents and cfls. Stick with them for veg.
Good luck and have fun!

This is the setup i have for my three plant. I'm using 12 26w 6100 kelvin CFL's from LOWE's ran 9 bucks for three.

CFL's work great for vegging if your using T5 BULBS ONLY.
T5 bulbs put out a shit load of lumens and use less energy.

Once your plants reach a Mid-size vegging height,
you'll want to switch over to Metal Halide.

For fully grown plants go with the basic principle of 160watts/plant. Make sure light is distributed evenly over all the leaves and stems and the bulbs are as close as possible without burning your ladies.

For bulbs stick with:

Veggie
23Watt CFL 6500kelvin
43Watt CFL 6500kelvin
150Watt CFL FLOOD 6500kelvin (this one from Grolux has doubled my growth since putting it in)

Flowering
use the same types of lamps but make sure your kelvin rating is 2700k and 3000k for optimal growth during flowering.

i whould have to side with UNTOLD he's right as far as the out put and such..you can also calulate: LXW=sqfoot of of ur room then use a min of 20watts per sqfoot.....exam:5x5=25sqft ....20watts x 25sqft=500watts:blsmoke:
just make sure the light is even and close as can be with out bruning and ur all gravey..good luck and:peace:
