Hit with Spider Mites, Heres what i did

20200816_084733.jpg

Veg tent got hit with Spider Mites right before these were getting moved into flower room. Thankful to catch this before flower as i wouldnt want to mess with these in flower.

Heres what i did:

I removed all plants from tent. Defoliated the older leaves.

Then i used Doctor Doom Spider Mite knockout. It killed every adult instantly. If you use this properly, you wont damage your plants.. but if you spray to long/to close.. you will fry your leaves!

Then i blasted them with a hose.

sprayed bleach on the pots.

Bleached the tent for hours. cleaned everything.

Put plants back in tent. Put DE powder over the top of the soil, and up 2 inches on them stem. incase any tried to climb up.

Sprayed them everyday few times with Soapy Water.

Hung a NO PEST strip for a day. ( its not in a living area)

Then 5 days later after their has been lots of new growth.

I removed them from tent again.
(bleached tent for hours once again)

Defoliated every single old leaf, only leaving new growth.

Dunked them Soapy Water for a few minutes each.

Bleached outside pots once again

Put them back in tent, out DE up 2 inches of stem.

continue soapy water spray.

Will be using NO PEST strip for next week.

Will continue removing plants and bleaching room every 3 days.

7 days in... and have yet to see a mite since i started wiping out the bastards.

These will be under quarantine for another week atleast, possibly 2 just to make sure.

Cause, clone was brought in from outside... even though i sprayed it off... there must of been one bastard mite on it. never again.

Obviously you cant do this in flower. But in VEG. you can obliterate the pricks.

Glad to see you caught the culprit before flowering
When i saw spotted white specks on my leaves. i didnt mess around and got right to work. Literally was getting moved into flower tent few days after i caught it! very lucky.

this is setting back my next run a few weeks but nothing you can do about that lol

Wow that’s a piss pot of work I am really hoping I don’t have that come along, I was happy to hear that it’s a no to “clones” from a outside home, I would have never considered that. Thanks, I will take your story to the bank, great info

Its a ton of work! in flower it would be very difficult to eradicate completely.

Theres so much doom and gloom on the forums when it comes to spider mites...

I just wanted to share my experience to show there are ways to win
