high seed temps

What is the maximum temp for seeds during germination.
I have searched all morning and can't really find much info on what happens to seeds that get too hot.
Last night I put my seeds into the paper towels on a covered plate with enough water to keep everything moist and then covered with another plate and taped shut.
I set the plates on top of my cable box with a shirt on top.
I put a thermometer next to it before I went to sleep and when I woke up this morning the temp read about 95 degrees:wall:. Who knows what the temp was inside the plates.
The paper towels did not dry out but I am worried that I fried all of my seeds.

Are they going to be OK? Should I start germing some more seeds?
In this batch I have:
3 Alaskan Ice fem
2Northern Lights x Skunk fem
2Blue Cheese fem
1skunk fem
1strawberry cough fem

I have more Alaskan Ice seeds and some others that came free from Attitude but I really hope I didn't ruin the other seeds.
Is there anything I should do to rescue them?
Where do you put your germing seeds?
Thanks in advance.

That sounds kinda like what I did - I didn't watch the temperature though, so I don't know how warm it got but it was fine. I didn't use plates, I just put the soaked papertowel inside a sealed sandwich bag (to keep the moisture in) and then wrapped the bag in a kerchief (to keep it dark) and placed it on top of my computer subwoofer. If you need to lower the temp a bit, just add another layer of cloth or some thing between the seeds and the heat source... With this method, mine germ'd in just under 2 days - 100% success (all seeds germ'd).

Hope that helps! :joint:
