I'm a backyard grower too. The sun where I live is very intense. I had been vegging my girls between two buildings. They recieved about 6 hr's a day of direct sunlight. I live in a rural area, but we still have farmers planting and harvesting a all times of the year. As my girls got bigger, I decided to build a lath house. A few 4X4 at the corners, some 2X4's for the frame, and some 1X4's ripped to 1 inch for the slats. I attached the slats vertically to the frame with 3 inches between the slats. I built it out in the open. The lath cut down the available light by 25%, but increased the exposure to light by 6.5 hours. It may not seem that this would be effective camoflage, but it is. The vertical slate break up the distinct outling of your girls and still allow plenty of light only someone standing beside your lath house could tell what was growing inside. It also makes a handy frame to to attach tarps to to protect from rain, hail or windstorms....Good luck...Dan
