As far as I can tell one of the worst problem for any grower using lights is the police being able to detect heat off it. If I had a smallish grow say 1000 watts and insulate literally the whole room other than that needed for growing space with things like folded blankets would that stop the pigs from being able to detect the heat? if not could someone please come up with a solution to help me do so.

you'd then have a big grey heat sig square in the house. your better of using a room and venting out of something already in use like your chimney or a heating vent.

if your doing part of a loft use the thick kingspan stuff, seal it right, you'll probably need a little heater in the winter if your uk.

a normal electric space heater uses 2000 WATTS. Many people run them all the time in the winter. They are designed to give out AS MUCH ENERGY AS POSSIBLE AS HEAT

Your grow light is using 1000 WATTS. It is designed to give out AS MUCH ENERGY AS POSSIBLE AS LIGHT

I'll leave the rest to you champs.

basically if you keep these 3 things your good.

#1 DONT TELL ANYONE!!!

#2 DONT vent heat out window or places it normally wouldnt come from

#3 KEEP smell under control.

So if no one knows youre growing, and no one can smell youre growing, the cops will never have a reason to hit you with a FLIR camera.

Also make sure you dispose of your garbage properly. As well as bring anything growing related into the house in unmarked boxes/bags.

We pack up all of our shit in garbage bags and take it to random dumpsters behind convenient stores and gas stations.

Just be smart! If someone can come by your house look around it and inside a little and not know youre growing youre doing a good job.

I once posted this in general growing, a must vid for all of us...even though some portions are plain common sense I'm amazed at some of the dumb shit growers still do. There was a guy using his basement dryer vent as an exhaust for over 200 plants in my state recently...with no odor control during Fall in an urban area!.

The best way to deal with these issues is, ,,,. Move to a state where it isn't an issue so much. Save some of your grow dollars and go somewhere that isn't under dea attack!! Oregon and Washington are good choices. I live in Or and when I go to te nursery and ask for certain products, I don"t worry. The proprieter asks "Are yo growing dope"? I say yep, and he shows me his whole line of nutes, hydro, smart pots, etc. After living behind the Zion Curtain for the last 20 years, and worrying the whole time I got smart and got out.
Not been on the parinoid side since.

Thanks Don i didn't think about that i might put it next to a heater or some other regularly producing heat source and insulate it abit so it doesn't look that different from the norm. I have a feeling that videos gunna come in very useful cheers;)

Jesus H Christ. There are some truly paranoid folks out there. Do any of you sleep good? A heat signature from a grow light is so explainable. If you ever had cause to have to explain it. A bigger concern is digital ballasts and the possibility of yours transmitting RFI/EMI and those "signals" interfering with a neighbor"s WiFi. And they can and many do. Get that knock on the door and the cable guy is there seeking the source of the signal interfering with their customer's WiFi service. They track them by source signal using antennas in vans. Read up some. Chinese-made units seem to be the biggest offenders as the cheaper models have no filters for such built in.

If I ever go epic and do a whole room or several rooms then stealth is needed. On the other hand, at hobby level, I could make a bigger heat signature fuckin mayn. Chill man....... "trappin aint dead, niggas just scared" Jeezy
