HID lght?

Hi RIU. I have just been give two hid lights but no bulbs. I am wondering if HPS or MH can use the same lamp?

It depends on the ballast. Most newer digital ballasts can do both.

My 600 digital is switchable from MH - HPS.

It's also dimable. Not sure why you would ever use that though.

lol thanks. I dont think its digital lol they look a bit old. Do you reckon i should just buy a digital ballist?

light bulb = lamp

They're kind of one in the same.

Digital ballasts can run both MH and HPS lamps, Magnetic can only run what they are made for as the frequency of each lamp is different.

Up to you really. Is there a part number or anything on the ballast. You can always look it up and see what the manufacturer recommends before buying a new one.
