Hey CO2 help.

I'll be setting up a sealed 4 x 16 x 6h divided into 4 Individual spaces, [ experimentals ], Have separate tents w Exhale 365 in each. Contemplating this new setup if I can make a single or double burner on the cheap. By sealed I mean light tight not unvented.

From my little understanding of the CO2 generators, there is a safety concern when you DIY a generator. I believe the issue has to to do with CO1 being produced in lieu of CO2, and could cause breathing issues.

Someone more experienced can elaborate, but I do remember reading a couple threads asking this question and most people cautioned against the idea. (regarding DIY combustion co2 generator)

Basically negates a need for CO2 since any additional CO2 you input into the room will be vented back out resulting in a pretty inefficient use of your co2

Well, it depends. As long as you can add enough co2 to overcome the loss to venting, it can still work.

But as noted, if you burn a yellow flame, you will produce co. The flame needs to be blue/clear. No yellow.

A co alarm would also be recommended.

But with all the gear washing up on ebay, I wouldn't bother building one. Just find a cheap 4 burner setup, close off two of the burners, and put a controller on it.

Or use bottled co2.

Thanx, I haven't had any problems so far just using Exhale 365 in each enclosure, perhaps that is my cheap alternative. I use a 2 burner LP plaque heater for the areas heat and have noticed 5-10% boost in productivity during winters heating season. After the last 2 replies, I tend to agree, homemade is probably not worth the risk. Thanx
