The main difference in hermaphroditic cannabis, to
regular cannabis, is unstable genetics.
They carry recessive traits that you may not want.
But seriously, the majority of bagseed and inexpensive
Fem seeds were produced from a Stable Genetic strain
that was forced to Hermi.
Things to be OVER cautious about, that can keep your
plants from going Hermi...
NO LIGHT LEAKS.
Weak genetics do not like unstable light schedules.
Yes, this means that if you turn the lights on in the
next room for a few minutes and there are leaks
into your grow space, your unstable genetic female
make start to produce Male pollen sacks. Don't worry,
they stick out like sore thumbs and a simple pair of
tweezers will quickly extract them. Look for them
at the top of each bud site, and the bottom of
each node.
NO TEMP FLUCTUATION.
Res temps must stay constant and not too warm.
68-72F.
Room temps must be warm during lights on, cooler when off.
If you room temps jump around too much, or get warmer during
the lights off period... Start checking for Male pollen sacks.
NO PH FLUCTUATIONS.
If this happens, the first thing to go will be your lower fan leaves.
They will look horrible, spotty, yellow and brown, dying. CORRECT
the PH issue and/or flush with correct PH. This type of stress can
cause Hermi sites.
^^These three issues CAN cause a stable genetic strain to hermi,
but they WILL cause weak genetic strains to hermi. Just keep an
eye on each bud site when you water your plants.
Look for YELLOW HORNS coming out between Calyxes.
If you have seeds... GROW them.
If your plants go hermi, you didn't notice, and now you have seeds
growing in your bud sites, it's going to take longer to mature you bud.
Possibly several more weeks. But it will still come out the same, just
not as big as it could be, and will dry and cure just fine.
The effects and tastes will not be degraded, and you will have more seeds.
Don't believe the nega-hype.
Good luck.
