hi help needed i have a grow northen 240 watt led pannel with 3 watt 60 degree leds. epistar 660 nm brigelux 460 nm 615 nm 630 nm 2700 k 6000k whats the best height for the light above the cannopy ?

It's mostly just feeling it out but let me explain. Your hand gets right warm in the tropical sun so if your hand is right over the top of the plant you can tell just how much light is falling by feel right? Think tropical and be sure and tell anybody ain't got this one yet!

I believe 3 watt 60degree LED's you'd want about a foot above the plants to prevent light bleaching...don't quote me on that though...LED Expert in the house?

I like to keep 3w 90 degree 20 inches above the canopy. Im not sure about 3w 60 degree. I know the light is directed more straight down, so to me I would think you would want it higher up. I do know if you get too close you will bleach the tops and decrease yield.

Is it actually a 180 watt, or did you mean x80 3watt chips?

I just found the webpage and its "80pcs of 3w LED". They say that they run their diodes between 2.2 and 2.8 watts each. So I would guess the unit should draw around 180w.

Pretty sure they're not going to run @ 2.8watts... that would significantly lessen the life of the diodes.

Thats kinda what I was thinking! They claim its for the most efficiancy, on one of the reds. But even 2.2 is a little high IMO.
