Hello, I am currently growing outdoors & as I was transplanting I noticed there was an abundance rolly polies I was just wondering if they are harmful to the plants. Thank you
Pics of rolly polies ?
Well that sucks. Is there any way I could get rid of them? Those pics are not roly polys (pill bugs). Those are grubs. and are not good for root systems.
Most of the chemical controls are systemic in plants so those are out but Look for a grub control with Bacillus Thuringiensis . It’s a naturally occurring soil bacteria that should give some control. Also there are beneficial nematodes that can work. Do a large area where you are planting, better yet do the whole yard. Once the BT colonized the soil it’s a long term control method.Well that sucks. Is there any way I could get rid of them?
Would this work? Or there is spray. Which would you recommend? Most of the chemical controls are systemic in plants so those are out but Look for a grub control with Bacillus Thuringiensis . Thank you for the help.It should you can get BT in a garden center or big box store for lawn application probably cheaper than fungus gnat control. Grubhalt or Grubgone are two brands.
