hi , i`m having problems with smell and taste of my buds. first you have to know that my plant was in perfect condition till i went o vacation and when i came back she was dried and almost dead, so i have to cut it down, early harvest. the buds appearance isn`t so bad, but the smell the have and the taste isn`t the best. because of the of drying i wasn't able to flush my plant. and i think that is the problem. after i cut the plant the buds where drying for 4 days because they were almost dry when y arrive, after that i put them on a jar and they have been there for 5 days curing. the problem is when i open the jar the smell that comes out is NOT a good one(when spread it out or cut it some good smell get out but not much). i have had some buds tastes and they do the work very well, but i was hoping there is a way i can help them with the smell and the taste that is not a good one. Please help me if there is a way. thanks in advance

Water cure is your best bet. Soak the herb in water for a week, change the water every day then dry it out completely. (I throw it in a salad spinner to get as much water out before drying).

Well, water curing will not bring out the best, flavor wise, and more than likely will result in it smelling like tea leaves. The damage is done. I'm afraid you'll never get "dank" out of this batch. The most succulent herb can be ruined by improper drying. Add wilting in it's media to boot and I wouldn't expect much from combusting it.. Get a vaporizer. That will taste much better.

URW, i hate the smell of green weed and the taste makes me sick smoking it. Save a little and don't cure it for a comparison.

yes i would water cure about 3/4 of the harvest for comparison. if the smell is gone definitely was the good option. thankx

Just jar cure it a while. See how the green goes. Does it stay? Fade? Disappear? Curing is a delicate process and some events are irreversable. Not flushing, drying too fast, and placing in jars/bags moist are examples. Water curing should be performed immediately upon harvest while the stomata are open for best effect. This allows maximum osmosis of the water solubles and preserves more trichomes than if performed once dry. Again, don't expect magic this time, and be happy you have smoke. Did you get a good amount off this harvest? If so, make hash. It will taste worlds better than what you have. Or, get a vaporizer. Be careful next crop and just take accidents in stride. They WILL
happen to everyone. I couldn't find my measuring cup so I eyeballed my ammendments too my soil. Now I have burnt tips the entire grow, and a pH issue that leads to less thanperfect nutrient absorbtion. I'll learn from my mistakes and next crop won't have that problem. But I bet a knife hit there will be other problems. :)
