Edit: not sure why I put two supers on the title but anyways maybe it will be catchy and people will come to help me.
First off thank you for helping me, So basically I am trying to decide if I want to use my soil from last year and amend it or if I want to buy new potting soil. I have 10 pounds of really hot fertilizer/compost That I am going to either use to amend my soil from last year or add to some new soil. Last year soil was super soil and I had a great run but I’m wondering how much nutrients are left and if I’m better off buying new soil or amending the old. I know a lot of people take their super soil from last year thats spent and add new compost to it and other stuff to get it repaired again. I have a few extra things such as dried banana peels, bat guano, sea kelp and azomite.
My second thing I’m wondering about is. I’m going to have to buy some store-bought soil anyways. I would rather not spend a lot on store-bought soil. I love roots organics and FOX farms but they’re just way overpriced. Does anyone know of alternative soil‘s that are just as good but much cheaper? I know there’s some stuff called black gold that has mixed reviews but a lot of people swear by it. I’m also not against going to a nursery and buying soil from a garden center or whatever but I’ve never done this before and I would rather not have to ask a lot of questions to make sure I’m getting legitimate ingredients.
What would you all suggest and thanks
