they do cost money but there not too expensive, for ph+ it doesnt matter what faze your in to use but for ph- be sure to use the right one, there is ph- for grow which usually is nitric acid and ph- for bloom which consists of phosforic acid, well keep it up, laterbaking soda is not a real good choice - sodium + mj = not so good
if you have access to some wood ashes, those are real good for raising ph and add potassium to the water/soil
garden lime can be used, but i think it's pretty slow, but better than nothing
lot of growers use products called Ph Up and Ph Down - but they do cost some money
What are you using to check your ph? Some test kits only give you a general idea of your ph, and not an EXACT reading. Litmus paper is not very accurate, neither is swimming pool ph tests. So the pH of my water is to acidic its 4.5-5. I looked on here about how to adjust the pH of the water and I found to add baking soda. I did this and added quite a good amount to 1 gallon of water and the acidity is not changed.
Any suggestions?
Thanks!

You can find good ph meters on "non-incriminating" websites for about $30-40.
