help with my light i bought from homedepot

i bought this 50w hps wall light from home depot. its 120v 60hz. i connected it to a plug and plugged it into an outlet. the light turned on for maybe 4 seconds but it was very dim then it shut off. now it wont turn on anymore. whats the problem?

Did you get finger grease on the bulb. If your legal have an electrician come.you out lit might not be letttin out enough electricity.
when it was very dim I'd imagine it was warming up by I don't know for sure.
does the light work on any other outlets.
BTW how many lumans
I did not know they had 50w hps
do you know if they hav 400w of higher

the bulb may have been bad, take it back and get a new one. nd make sure it is wired correctly. 50w will work regardless what people say about getting a 400w, just plan on flowering one plant at a time and CFL side lighting

The ballast MIGHT be polarized... Or, is there a light sensor?

Most likly there is a light sensor... check around the light for a little plast piece.. put tape on it... and thats all u gotta do it was dim because HPS needs time to heat and collect ions. or some shit.
