Help with Low temps

My room gets too cold in the winter time. Lights on 68-74 degrees lights off 57-59 degrees. Is there anything I can use besides a space heater to keep the temp up? I want to see if there is something I can use to keep the temp up without using a 1500 watt heater. Maybe burning some candles which would also produce co2? IDK any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

if u want CO2 u could look into a propain burner that would increase the heat

those low temps can be good .................the strain berry ryder likes the temps to dip in the 50s it will cause the blue tint to the buds

Dehumidifier a increase heat and generally use around 250w.

During winter I have similar problems and I use my dehumidifier and an 80w tubular greenhouse heater.

Also you could look at a fan speed controller for your exhaust fan.

This way you can set it to run slower during dark hours keeping the heat in the area.

I too use a temperature sensored fan speed controller.

would it be dangerous for me to have a propane burner running constantly? I don't have my exhaust running to the outside, I have it exhausting out of the grow room into a larger room(garage).

they sell co2 gens that are lowflame propain burners

here to help start u on the research i found this place it has a few types

rem with plants they like CO2 when the light is ON .............when the light is of they light oxygen this is the plants natural cycle .........pumping into to much co2 can cuase toxic areas for yourself and others so please for the love of god do your work figure out a good air flow and limit your time in the area while the CO2 is active ......(u pass out fall on flower u are dead no one to pull u out before the air in body runs outs (co2 sinks ) .............if i done my work correctly anything over 1500ppm is toxic to ppl

Hey justugh. I appreciate the help and it seems fairly cheap for those co2 gene's BUT I have already spent way more thn than I should have and currently have no money. I DO have a propane burner though. I would like to use that. But I don't know if its practical. And holy moly! I just looked up co2 meters and they are going for 100$ +!

Honestly my biggest problem is the temps being too low. I just figured I could kill 2 birds with one stone using a small compact propane grill I already have. But It's gonna be a pain in the ass. I just want to raise the heat in the room at night and a little bit during the day.

Is there any way you can install a register in the room from your furnace so it forces warm air into the room at night and can be dampened off during the light cycle.

well that would be the most cost effective method of warming the room since u get some co2 pay out

i have one other method u can try it is a little silly but theramal dynamics is funny like this what about using a electric blanket on the walls to pass heat in or a heating pad in the ducting on the a powered intake

np like to help i learn more and get karma points

what kind of place is it a apartment or a house u own ................where do u have it venting

if it is your place a simple fix would be run air from the attic down into the tent at night and use a dampener in the day time to stop that air flow and drawl from the cool room

or ducting the air from a room that is warmer natural at night and using the heating pads (like a bathroom that is smaller and can turn on a heat system on)

whats a register? And yes I actually thought about running ducting for my forced hot air heating system for my house into the grow room But. I rather not mess with the ducting in the heating system I DO NOT want to mess with that. If it was my house than yes but no way. God idea though. I think Im going to use a oil filled radiator. I have 2 that I pretty much never used. I read that oil filled radiators use about 1/4 or 25% the electricity as a regular space heater. So I hope this is true in my case.

Hey I like that idea of using duct to create a connection between the grow room and the attic but Im afraid of mold since I assume the attic will have quite a bit of humidity. Im deathly afraid of getting mold because It ruined my first crop and my second crop only got a tiny tiny bit of mold and everytime I smoke it makes me sneeze.

if u ever make your own strain call it the amish fucker

this is a idea i came up with for myself ..........u can just get the lvl 10 filter

1 home depot filter 12x12x1 lvl 9 ........lvl 10 should clear everything it is like hospital lvl filtering (cost 20 bucks)
2 a large flat ratebox from the USPS (free) 12x12x7or 5 ......it is in the box by the door saids free normally at the bottom
3 a can of spray rubber (home depot ) look by the spray paint cans several kinds just need to be rubber sealing 7-12 bucks
4 roll of duct tape 4 bucks
5 a booster fan (6 inch one off amazon 240 cfm has metal blades) 35 bucks
6 flexie ducting how ever long u need plus connetors ( u might want insulted for less heat lost)

ok once u decide on the ducting size and get the booster fan

make the box and seal on side with tape (take the booster fan and press into the bottom making a circle) use a sharp blade and poke/cut out

now take it outside and spray it down inside/on the coners outside and the hole ...........i did mine 2 times hung it for 6 hours let it dry do again wait untill morning

now cut off the extra flaps and tape in the filter (u want to have the hole in back open to help this ) ..............once that is done u can put in the ducting(the ducting will go in with some work and once u open it up u can tape it down) or the fan now ( if it is the fan u tape it on good to the box)............then run it to the tent ........it is a long way with alot of bends u will need several boosters

here is the last helping idea

if it is really a worry and u want to invest in something for later and now then u should look into UV it will kill molds and virus in the ducting .........but again this is something that can do harm to u and your ppl if u do get one and plan to work with invest in a pair of good UV blocking workglasses (not cheapo has a sticker sunglasses ) i am not the one that is looking at the light possiblity but u are

http://www.amazon.com/Uvonair-Inline-Duct-Booster-Ozonator/dp/B00819ANNQ/ref=sr_1_10?ie=UTF8&qid=1376157206&sr=8-10&keywords=inline+uv

if u like the idea u could get a UV T8s and put the stick in the ducting for a cheaper choice

I put this radiator heater ( http://www.amazon.com/Optimus-H-6002-Portable-Filled-Radiator/dp/B00440EV2A/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1376227846&sr=8-2&keywords=small+radiator+heater ) in the shell of a wooden 2 drawer file cabinet and butt it up to the tents square tear off window and let the fan suck heat through. My temp is consistent at 75 - 80 degrees. Be careful with the unit as it is a cheap piece of crap. Just happens to be the right small size. I would suggest taping over the on/off button and use the thermostat only. The button has a habit of exploding button guts.
