Help with lighting, first grow, pics

I've went ahead and started building the grow room. I have a lower compartment for vegging and the top area will be for clones, possibly a 2 part clone procedure to try to streamline things a little quicker.

I am starting my first grow soon, snow white, and will start a log whenever everything starts, but the problem I am facing now is lighting.

I have tons of t12 fixtures lying around, but I'm guessing I really need to grab a t5 or at least a t8 for what I am doing, and maybe cfl for the clones.

I don't really want to go HID right now due to lack of cash. I have a separate flower room I am converting in a week or so , and will more than likely go with a HPS for that, so maybe upgrade later.

I was just looking for some input from you guys on what you would suggest .

Dimensions are: 6' tall , 4' wide, 18 1/2" deep

thanks for the input, I was looking on maybe having clones in rockwool on one side of the top, and on the other side have transplanted clones in bigger containers, then on the bottom have either 1 or 2 sections of plants at different stages of vegetation. I was thinking this would keep them all in steady production, perhaps too fast though.

What would everyone recommend? The closest hydroponics store is about 1.5 hrs away, so specialty bulbs will be difficult. I was thinking maybe t12's up top for the clones and t5's at the bottom for the vegetating. Flowering of course in a different room, under HPS, but I'll handle that later, I mainly want to focus on correctly setting up the grow room.

Thanks ahead of time.

it would be too fast your vegging plants will out grow the height before the flowering crop finishes, can you change the shelving around? keep 24inches on the bottome shelf for cloning, and use the higher shelfe for vegging, so you wont have the vegging plants hit the top shelf, they can go higher than the whole shelf system this way, also you can do some training while they wait for the flower room to free up

hmm, well it has a roof, the bottom area is 4' and the top is already 2' . I guess I'll just have to train them or something to keep them from getting too big waiting on the flowering room, right?

bump..

I now have my nutes/soil/meters, all I am waiting on is the seeds to get here. I'd really like to have the lighting system figured out as soon as I can so things can start happening.

Does anyone agree that T5 would be the way to go?

Now it is 18 1/2" deep and 4' tall and 4' wide for the grow area.

Maybe a 4 bulb t5 system? Mix of warm and cool bulbs. Hopefully I can squeeze a 4' light in that space, or should I go with something less, like cfl.

Thanks for any help.
