Alright guys,
I have finally decided to make my veg area out of fluoro's because I cannot deal with the heat from another HID light. Unfortunately, I need a large area (like 50 sq feet!) covered by these fluoro's -and I have no experience fluorescents in growing. I was looking online at things like the tek lights and such. These come in four foot bulb lengths - and I was hoping to do an area closer to 10 ft by 5 ft. With fluorescents, my understanding is that you want your plants directly under them as close to the bulbs as possible unlike HID where the plants may be off the side.
I would either have to buy multiple sets of fluoros like the tek lights or construct my own set. How many bulbs would I need for this? Also, I have been trying to find longer bulbs (like 6 to 10 feet) so I could construct my own set up, but I cant find any.
Should I even attempt such a large area with the fluoro's or should I just find a way to deal with my heat issue. LEDS are too expensive at the time for me.... Thanks for the help all
