Help with ducting issue.

Before I buy a light I need to find out a couple of thing if I may. I have a 2x4x7 tent and want to order a 400 HPS light but if I decide to go with an air-cooled hood I assume there will be duct tubes attached to each end of the light. So how does one lower and raise the light with that type of set-up? Do you just take in consideration that this will have to happen and cut tubing to size? Looking to see if someone has some what the same set-up and would like to comment on their 2x4x7 set-up,(heat,fans, how many pots, Thanks to one and all.....................

Yea the ducting is VERY flexible so you need not worry about it at all.. even if it isn't you can easily get more ducting and MAKE it flexible enough for your needs.

you could always do what iam thinking about doing. in my closet the temps are hard to regulate due to its size and the heat of the t5's off of the foil iam using. i noticed that if i keep the light high it is capable of dispersing its heat better, so, my plan: if my problems continue, rather than lowering the light to the plants thus keeping the heat lower in the closet, iam going to RAISE my plants up to the light, maybe on some stacked books or something. then just take a book or 2 out as needed to lower them as they grow.

its the lazy approach, and probably wont even work (interested in a few replies on thoughts) but for now this is your thread, and i would say that that is what i would do cuz iam lazy. iam sure there are a hundred other ways of doing it properly.

the book idea will work. Was just reading about this method in Billy McCann's Home Growers manual. Books are a good idea but i would avoid getting them wet. Mold and Mildew would not be fun on your girls, and that shit spreads fast. If heat is an issue and you have some wet books its a breeding ground. get something like a milk crate or some of those 1 gallon planting liners that they use to ship small shrubs and flowers in.

I am currently using insulated flexible duct in my GL120 (4x4x7) and am liking it so far, just put it all up though. It takes up a bit more space but my heat is down and my tent is silent as fuck.

Good luck man!!
