first i wanted to say thank you guys for getting me this far - i have been reading for years and this is my first post.

I am having trouble figuring out how to setup co2 in my tent.

i am running two 1000w lights with cooltubes.

currently air comes from my carbon filter which is inside the tent then over the lights then out of the tent.

->filter - cooltube - fan -> outside tent

i have purchased the (
Sentinel CHHC-1 Cooling Heating Humidity and CO2 Controller)

and a co2 tank and regulator.

-

so now i have to change my ventilation, what would be the best way to go about venting with the controller i have?

i need to always be scrubbing the air with the carbon filter but i dont want to always be venting the room or i will be loosing alot of co2.... anyone have any ideas?

thanks

uhm. keep a vent strictly for your light (heat rises) and one about halfway down the plants for your c02. setup your co2 so that its above the plants and angled down. (co2 is considered a heavy gas and it will penetrate just fine). i personally use small amounts of carbonated water since i dont have room for a co2 tank in my closet.

thanks for the reply -

actually my lights are in cooltubes and i am going to vent them so that the air comes in from outside the tent passees the light and then out the other side of the tent so that the air never gets sucked from inside the tent passed the lights..

but now my problem is my Carbon Scrubber - i dont want to always be running it because if i am i feel like i will be taking too much CO2 out of the air - so should i have the scrubber setup to just scrub the air and drop it back into the tent instead of venting it out so i dont loose the co2?

or would that not work at all...???

or should i have the carbon scrubber only on when the co2 is off? but wouldnt i start to get a smell problem?

thats my concern - please help me with some more insight

thanks!

I have a similar setup and im some what confused on where my carbon filter playes into it all. So the extraction fan is pulling air from outside through ducting through the light and then out the tent so never actually exhasting the tent just cooling the light. So do I need another fan pullin air out only at certain times through the filter to exhast the tent or how do i keep the smell down?

Im in the VERY same boat. Im thinking spliting my intake into two 6" ducts from the one and running one for the lights, one for intake. Exhausting with my carbon filter approx every 90 mins, and running co2 while its off. I have the cap4 temp/humidity/co2 controller. Only thing i dont like is i cant choose how long the fans are on for.

so how do you set up the carbon filter without another fan if your fan is being used to pull air from outside the tent, through the light, then back outside the tent never being used in the tent except for ducting?
