Help with a discision..

Posted yesterday but been looking around for a few hours and came up with a few to choose from.

Looking for: LED Full grow, start to finish
Grow area: Can go from 2'x3' to 4'x5' by 6' high.
Price Range: $200-$800(if needed)
Models found: Blackstar Chrome, 357 Magnum, Apollo series and SolarFlare.

OK, after searching I seen good things with the above models and of course some bad. I'm looking for a LED setup that can grow from start to finish with just the one light. I seen the 357 can do this with the flick of a switch but not sure on the others. I'm new to the indoor growing, little exp. but really new to the LED lights and if I'm gonna spend this kind of money I wanna make sure I get what I pay for and be 100% satisfied. With the help of all you nice folks I'm sure I can make this decision in a couple days I hope. Also looking for the pros and cons in the lights. So thanks in advance for any help!

don't be hooked by the "flick of the switch" story; Once you gain experience with leds, you see that you still need all the reds for vegging.

ONLY BLUE LIGHT STUNTS THE GROW. It was all good if those companies were to offer the veg switch that was not only blue/white but a mix of the full spectrum....

a good vegging panel has a maximum of 30% blue, more than that and you are going into issues. Having said that, 10% blue still vegges very nicely!

All the 357Magnum users veg in full mode (apart from the noob that have bought the new panel recently, like me, a few years back)

Am not saying 357Magnum is rubbish (actually it's still one of the best within commercal panels in my view) am just saying those companies offering veg mode and flower mode switches, are not offering anything useful: only blue not good for vegging and only red not good for flowering (you need the blue for trichs production about 10%, also it helps fattening the flowers. And anyway blue is mandatory for good perspiration, especially when experiencing those led's lower temperatures)

Thanks for the input! So you are saying that pretty much most of the good LEDs can grow in veg and flower? or do I need to think bout 2 panels?

you can def do with one panel! Ideally you'd have a slightly different spectrum for vegging, but def not a all blue vegging panel!

I wanna see a review of an apache tech AT120RB. Anyone wanna take the plunge on picking one up? It has a 4:1 ratio of red to blue so that would be perfect for veg and flower.

OK, I believe I narrowed it down some.

Choice #1: Apollo 6 or 8, didnt see a price on cidly though. Also wasnt sure of the lens 30,60 or 120. 120 maybe, if i do 120 I could put the light a little closer to the plants right?

Choice #2: Blackstar 240 or 500, seen people talk more about this brand than the rest it seems like

Choice #3: Area 51s 150, this unit would be #1 right now but im just not sure seeing there hasnt been to many people using it right now even though the lifetime warranty looks good but what good is a lifetime warranty if the company goes under in 2 years?

SolarFlare and Progrow and still on my mind but 100% sure yet. Within the next week I should be doing the ordering of the one I pick!

If you go with Cindy Apollo LEDs, then post what you this about them. I almost purchased their Apollo series.

Why are you doing LED? HPS has a much higher yield and better lumens per square foot. I would only use HPS if you want to grow.

Hey, you should check out Pro-Grow by hydroponicshut. I just received my yesterday morning and it seems pretty damn great so far. No heat issues in my tent at all. If you are considering this light, send me a PM, I think I can try to hook you up with a discount.

I just didn't have the extra money for them. Plus I have bought 3 watt led lights before and wasn't impressed with them in flower. Also, until recent I couldnt find anyone who has used the Apollo series. It's been a while since I was originally lookin at the Apollo series.
