Can anyone tell me if it is safe to run a carbon filter extractor fan from an extension instead of a wall socket?

Should be fine. I have for years...
Cheers mate, I gonna do a grow in my loft got an extension up there just now with 4 sockets on it and just going to purchase a 15 metre kettle lead and run it into bedroom, I didn't want to run light from it so was wondering if fan and filter would be safe from extension. New grower so thought I Shud check with you guys

I must admit the loft is not ideal place unless last resort you get many problems from loft heat will be the biggest and the cops the next

were you gonna extract the heat to and were you gonna pull you fresh intake from are you using tent or not
Not using a tent, built a frame 1.5m x1.5m 1.8 m height, stapled bubblefoil insulation on outside of tent and inside I have black and white material for reflection, I have a 5" extractor pulling air up into the chimney stack, 5" intake and clip on fan and a spare if I need it, 600 watt hps for flower and 400 mh for veg, nft system canna nutrients and a scrog screen because of my height restrictions going to run supercheese

seems fine I'm in uk you probley need a bigger extractor for that 600w I use a 8" in a 3footx3footx6foot tent with cf and cool tube running a digital ballast with 5" intake from outside and extracting direct outside and I'm running temps of 25-27 on warm days can go up a bit 28-29 but it is cold in Scotland humidity might be a problem for you as its constantly wet in scotland

Lol its wet as we speak, my mate runs thr exact same set up as iv got and never has problems. He recommended getn a socket fitted in my loft I was just seeking a 2nd opinion mate as I don't want anyone knowing what I'm up too it's hard to get a spark u can trust to keep the mouth shut, you knowing is too many people in IMO LOL, trial and error I will soon find out about temps/humidity. Thanks buddy
