i ended up with 2 plants from a 10 pack of rez chemdogd x sour diesel (shit rate)

4 germed one never broke soil one broke soil and died one broke soil turned to a runt

left me with one strong plant terned out to be a female and one runt is a male

my question is can i or should i use pollen from runt if i want to cut my losses by pollenating the female

will the runt thing be passed on to seeds if pollen is used or not ---use or look elswhere for pollen if that is my plan

appreciated if you hold the knowledge

thanks

Are you sure the genetics is stunted or did you have some stress issues with the plant? you can use the pollen from runt to breed the female, as long as it is mature enough there shouldnt be any problems. was you just planning on lettin the male flower with the femaile?

as long as the male prduces pollen sacs, and the female produces buds, and this happens at the same time, your good. there is a sticky thread around here somewhere. search rollitup for "breeding tutorial" for the best ways on how to do it.

thanks fellas i have dusted and collected before-- diesel ryders and some elite genetics gear

i normally do just one branch no need for hundreds of seeds and bud not all it can be due to seed production

i was not sure of use of pollen from the runt

Im not sure if the runt genes would be passed on but since you are just dusting a branch it wouldnt hurt to find out. Also i would clone the female so if the cross does turn out bad you still have the original to dust with something else.

you could still use the male to make seeds..but when you grow out the F1's theres a chance the ( runt gene/trait) will come back. but if you grow out a good amount you should find some good looking males in there too. at that point just pick a better growing male and stay away from the runt..i whould also keep clones of the mother.

If the runt is a runt by genetics and not just because he was stressed or had other problems you will pass on the trait. You might be luckly and the male was a runt due to growing conditions and then you still have a viable male. You might think about using his pollen to pollinate say one bud site, you could easily obtain 15 or more seeds this way, if it wasn't a genetic runt you have good seeds and genetics.
As has been pointed out keep a clone of the best female, even if you don't use this clone for breeding you are keeping her genetics and keep cloning her until you find the perfect male for her. While you are waiting and when your new seeds are dried and ready for planting you have a test run to see if the runt genetics show up and you know if the runt has come through or not.
I hope this helps to give you some ideas, since you aren't really breeding for strains per se you can have fun finding out how the breeding works and what to expect in the future. I am enclosing a couple of links for you to read, it might help you figure out what to expect with this cross and how the crosses work. Making seeds is fun, pretty easy and gives you a self satisification of smoking something you have created. Just remember to keep good records of what you do so you understand what possibilities you have in your new crosses.
Good Luck
