Help Please - Curling light green tips

Hi Guys,

I’m a little puzzled at what’s happening with my plant at the moment.
I live in NSW Australia
My setup is an absolute cheapskate noob operation in my bedroom, i’m actually shocked it’s made it this far considering i’m using a $20 (200w full spectrum hydro grow light) off ebay inside a literal corrugated cardboard box lined with reflective tape on the inside and base, i also cover the top with a black microfibre to trap the light. I turn the light on at 5pm & off at 7am.
I used cocopeat with nutrients as the soil with plenty of perlite throughout & i use simple npk nutrients paired with worm castings.

If somebody could help me out with why the tips are turning a lighter green & slightly curling in some places. Possibly light burn?

Why the odd 14/10 light schedule? If you're vegging most people use at least 16/8 or 18/6. If you're flowering, it still seems off unless I'm missing something. Just curious, thanks.

I actually don't know what the best light cycle is for the plant at this stage, whether to flower it or veg it, I'm a proper rookie grower, would you recommend 16/8?
This is my first grow, so any tips are greatly appreciated...

That would depend on your goals and how much room you have in the box. You should be giving them around 18 hours of light and 6 hours of dark typically during veg stage but some do 16 and 8. Then when you decide to flower you change the light schedule to 12 hours on and 12 hours off. That will trigger the hormones in the plant to produce flowers(buds). The thing is when you change the light schedule the plant will go through a growth spurt called the stretch. Depending on the genetics of your seeds it can gain from 50% to 300% in size in just weeks. You need a certain amount of space between the light and the top of your plants to keep them from burning so you need to factor in the stretch for when you're going to switch to flower. That way they don't grow so tall they're touching the lights. If you give us some specs on the light, like the recommended light spacing and how tall the box is we can figure out roughly how big you can let them get.
Hope that makes sense and with the extra hours of light you will want to keep an eye out for light stress as your adding more overall. You may have to raise it up some if you add 4 hours a day.
Nute burn is generally from feeding too high of a dosage of fertilizer. What brand and dosage of fertilizer are you feeding it?
