well i'll try to clone my plant for the first time soon and i have been read alot about cloning. I got everything so far just one thing confused me is:" does it necessary to put a lit on a new cloning plant? and how to care for them to get the best result?
either way you do it, the main thing to keep in mind is you need to maintain high humidity...thats the only way the plant can get water while it's trying to make roots is through the leaves...so a dome is preferred because you can mist it and keep the humidity high, making it easier to form roots..
here are the clones we just potted yesterday and I dont think they r doing too well hopefully it's just the shock from change to pot and a little over water...please let me know what you guys think.... and there also pics show how much light they have...temp is about 80 humidity around 35-45...there are 8 clones in total....veg cab size 4x2x4(in foot)...
Best way for clones is to keep under 24 hours of florescent tube light rather then cfls/After a decade or so of cloning I find that with cloning powders I get about a 98% success rate and with gels like clonex I get about an 80% rate and its a lot slower. I find rockwool cubes the best for cloning soaked in 5.5 water then shaen out as you want moist not wet. Also a good heat pad or propogation mat under the dome tray helps a lot as you want the roots about 70 degress F.Mist twice a day and open 2 times a day for 15 minutes after day 1.My clones usually show roots in 3-5 days from the bottom of the rockwool cubes
Funny really, I have poor luck with powder, and good luck with gel-I like Clonex. maybe I am not using the powder correctly - the stems seem often to blacken and rot. Could you quicly go through your powder method Fletch?
i used powder...and seem like 7 out of 8 have root and after put them in to pot seem like 4 out of 8 will pull through....any tips after you put them in to pot?
add lemon juice or vinegar to lower it and baking soda to raise it. i have a dig. ph tester and i cant fathom of growing without one. i ph the water whenever i feed them and make sure theyre at a constant 6.5.
well this question might not fit with the tittle but i dont wanna make a thread for it..Do any of you have heard anything about rootbound or anything in that sort i gonna put up some pic and more detail info on mine plant later on cause the plant that in think have issued is in 12/12 circle and th elight is off so i have to wait till tomorrow morning to take some pic....
