Hi,

I have no dehumidifier. The air humidity here has been in the low 60's around 62 or 64 in the air here. My problem is I got my buds down to about 67% rh after about 3 or 4 days of burping and throwing in paper bags overnight, etc. and opened them and the air humidity was 72% so now I'm reading 72% even though the outsides of my bud are totally dry...Will my bud still cure in a jar even though the air humidity is higher than the inside of the buds moisture? I wanted to have it to where I could actually leave it closed for a week. Thanks for your help

you should have let them dry more before you started curing. i let mine dry for 6 days before jaring them. i use timers and fans to control humidity in my drying tent.

the fans turn on every 4 hours for 1 hour and basically "burp" themselves during the drying stage

ive found this works best because yuo only need to jar for 3 days after youre done drying

but for your id let them all sit out for about 12-24 hours then toss em back in the jar.

or use bigger jars or fill the jars you have to about 75% full so they have some room for air to accumulate moisture.

Ok, so for now I have them just sitting in paper bags for another day. But my concern is that the outsides of the bud will be all dry and the moisture will stay trapped in the inside of the bud because the outside of the bud is moister than the inside I think... Will the moisture still travel to the dry part of the bud if the RH is so high in the air that is in the jar already? The air literally is at 73% humidity where I live due to it raining right now... after closing the jar for a few hours it ready 68% like the bud was absorbing the air's moisture.

is it bad that the air in my house is 72% humidity? My stems crack and the humidity is same in the jar...help!?!?!

I know I need to leave the jars closed now if I want to preserve the taste...It's been over a week since I cut them down and I want to preserve that danky smell that was so pungent...please help me do this! I threw a few chunks of paper towel in there hoping it would suck up any extra moisture....Am I ok to leave jars closed for a week or two?
RH reads 72% humidity in my jar...I had it down to 66% before it started raining here. If you need more info to answer please ask

the moisture inside the bud will rehydrate the outside of the bud put them in the jars start burping things will be fine.

i would not recomend putting anything including paper towels in jar during curing if they seem to moist dump them out on the paper towels till the outside is dry again then put back in the jar.

cool, thanks. I've been doing that for a few days now and I think I'm to the point where I want to leave them for a week. Am I safe to do this with such high air humidity? The bud itself is dry on the outside and the stems snap and everything but it doesnt have a strong smell anymore and doesn't burn all the way smooth in a bowl due to some inner bud moisture...I want to cure for a week or two. Is it safe to do this with 72% air humidity? Everywhere I look poeple say under 55% under 60% RH. I CAN'T DO It. Shitting BRICKs here...I'm losing my precious smell every time I burp this jar! And the humidity only rises because its raining here... buds are getting drier but air in jar is like 72% so i think its Frickin with my hygrometer.

I'm trying using the freezer to draw out the moisture, "Freeze Dry" if you will.

I put the jar in the freezer for 6 hours, pull them out, dump the bud into a paper grocery bag, and turn the now frozen jar upside down to drain any moisture out.

Will keep you posted.

My buds hung for 5 days in my outbuilding, and like you, it's rained heavily all week. My buds were no longer dry to the touch, but not "crispy" like my bud dried out there in 3 days in the summertime.

Thanks for the response Fortheloveofgreen, yeah my buds are still kind of dry on the outside but feel spongy and slightly moist when you squeeze them. Hard to explain. It's like they just can't quite get dry enough....I've been moving my buds from jars to paper bags with no success as of yet. It seems to me like you would have to have a desiccant to preserve flavor and taste? That way it would still be marinating in its own moisture and there would be no need to burp. Air RH is 74% here right now and it needs to be at 55 or 60% it sucks...Anybody with any experience it would be much appreciated
