Help!? Mites!?

Hello, I've recently obtained 5gallon pots from a friend of mine whom said there were mites in there once upon a time, and he has kept them in his shed for 4 months before giving them to me. I want to transplant my ladies in these pots, but I wanna know before I do, How should I clean the pots, and is it worth it? Or should I buy new ones?

Please any suggestion is much appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

shouldn't be a problem, they had nothing to eat for 4 months. Just clean it with bleach, making sure you clean the bleach off VERY well. If you're worried, neem oil 1 oz per gallon and a few drops of dish soap will kill mites on plants so it should work on the buckets too

scratch the neem oil and go for the mighty wash. why put an oil on your plant? oh but we're talking buckets here, odd. a good washing in soapy water will take care of most anything that could possibly be alive in the bucket for 4 months, females can go dormant but I dunno about 4 months.

frequency adjusted water man, its labeled 99.8335 percent water but somehow it contains a electrical charge and kills ALL mites and eggs. There's nothing safer or more affective. neem move over.
