Help Me Select A Bulb...

I just purchased a Lumatek 600 watt MH/HPS digital ballast (120 volt). I have some pretty basic questions, which show that I don't know much yet about growing.

1. Can my 600 watt digital ballast be used with both 400 watt and 600 watt bulbs? Or am I confined to using 600 volt bulbs?

2. Since my ballast can service both MH and HPS bulbs, should I use both? As in the MH for vegging, then the HPS for flowering, or should I use an HPS from start to finish?

3. What specific bulbs would you recommend?

Well, since it's digital, i can't say if you can run 400W. I wouldn't though if i were you. And I'd say yes, if you can afford BOTH bulbs, use a good MH for veg and HPS for flowering. my $.02. I know a lot of people on here will rec. those grow bulbs, which is all fine and dandy, but personally, i'm cheap and "regular" bulbs work fine. kinda partial to GE or Philips myself

only way to go. you will see a diffrence in how dense your nugs are

My ballast is a 600 watter, and there is no 600 watt MH bulb. So How could I use one for vegging?
