help making grow box design...

im planning on making a bigger grow box.. right now im growing in a small cabinet i think its 17x21x21 i think i can only grow one plant in there. so i was thinking on making a bigger grow box, i have like 20 2x4 and like 40 sheets of plywood the really think one. i want to build a grow box with 2 rooms one veg one flo, and i was thinking to grow like 4 plants maybe 6.. how big does the veg n flo has to be?

depends. what height are you going to flower at? i have two boxes... both 18x36x36 one is veg/clone/mother and other is flower. I"m flowering 13 plants in there. check my sig.

so really its all up to you. make it as big as you want or as small as you want.

if i had a choice i'd get a 1000w hps and have my flower room 5 wide 4 deep and 6' tall and flower them at about 2-3' tall.

I recently purchased a wardrobe from Big Lot's for all my starters but you could easily have it set up for a perpetual grow of 5 plants.

It has a top level that I put a 2' cfl ballast this is about 16-18" high (perfect for clones and possible small mothers, but I am using another area) then it has a left and right side, each is about 4' tall and is about 2ft X 2ft, one side has no shelves (area for larger plants or monthers in my case) I have a 275w in that area and other side has two adjustable shelves (I am only using one to divide in about half (5 x 1 gallon pots fit perfect and 6 will fit a bit tight in each section) these will be my veggin plants and will be moved to a flowering station. I am building this box for a clone/mother/veggin box. I have mylar rapping the inside and the mini flo's were also on sale at big lot's 3 pack for $5 and they are 70 watts ea. I have a total of 8 maybe use that last one (I bought 3 of the 3 packs of lights)

Here are a couple of photos, it is pretty much done other than the little clean up and small details, I think I will run a post on this. Let me know what you think. The right side has two area's that can easy fit 5 plants in 1/2 gallon containers, I think that's what I got, so you could have 10 to 12 plants in this area and do other things to suit your needs. This was not cheap, but not too expensive about $140 for lights, $24 fans, $30 mylar, $13 duct tape and insulation tape for better seals, $30 exhaust vents, $100 cabinet so about $340 . I think there are several things that can be done better on the next one and for a little less cost.

wow that looks pretty good! Thats kind of what I am looking into doing, except I want to build a cabinet that is portable...

This is funny cause this afternoon as I was putting this together I saw some casters (wheels) that one of my dogs chewed up pretty good but gave me the idea to put them on the bottom I matched them up and sure enough if you use 2" casters you can put them on the bottom and have about 1/2 to 3/4 clearance want more go to a 3" caster. It would be large but easily portable.

tnxs a lot for all your help guys.. u grwoing 12 plants in that space? wow.... how many d u think i cant fit on my current cabinet 17"x21"x21"? all i want is go get like 6 oz every month.. its just for personal use.
